Speedy Gonzales (commonly shortened to just Speedy) is an animated caricature of a mouse in the Warner Brothers Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies series of cartoons. He is portrayed as "The Fastest Mouse in all Mexico" with his major traits being the ability to run extremely fast and speaking with an exaggerated Mexican accent. He usually wears an oversized yellow sombrero, white shirt and trousers (which is a common traditional outfit worn by men and boys of rural Mexican villages), and a red kerchief, similar to that of some traditional Mexican attires. To date there have been 46 cartoons made either starring or featuring this character.

SpongeBob SquarePants is an American animated television series created by marine biologist and animator Stephen Hillenburg. The series chronicles the adventures and endeavors of the title character and his various friends in the fictional underwater city of Bikini Bottom. The series' popularity has made it a media franchise, as well as the highest rated show to ever air on Nickelodeon, and the most distributed property of MTV Networks. The media franchise has generated $8 billion in merchandising revenue for Nickelodeon. Many of the ideas for the series originated in an unpublished, educational comic book titled The Intertidal Zone, which Hillenburg created in the mid-1980s. He began developing SpongeBob SquarePants into a television series in 1996 upon the cancellation of Rocko's Modern Life, and turned to Tom Kenny, who had worked with him on that series, to voice the titular character. SpongeBob was originally going to be named SpongeBoy, and the series was to be called SpongeBoy Ahoy!, but these were changed, as the name was already trademarked. Nickelodeon held a preview for the series in the United States on May 1, 1999, following the television airing of the 1999 Kids' Choice Awards. The series officially premiered on July 17, 1999. It has received worldwide critical acclaim since its premiere and gained enormous popularity by its second season. A feature film, The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, was released in theaters on November 19, 2004, and a sequel is currently in production, with a projected release date of February 6, 2015. On July 21, 2012, the series was renewed and aired its ninth season, beginning with the episode "Extreme Spots". Despite its widespread popularity, the series has been involved in several public controversies, including one centered around speculation over SpongeBob's intended sexual orientation. The series has been nominated for a variety of different awards, including 17 Annie Awards (with six wins), 17 Golden Reel Awards (with eight wins), 15 Emmy Awards (with one win), 13 Kids' Choice Awards (with 12 wins), and four BAFTA Children's Awards (with two wins). In 2011, a newly described species of mushroom, Spongiforma squarepantsii, was named after the cartoon's title character.

Stuart Little is a 1945 children's novel by E. B. White, his first book for children, and is widely recognized as a classic in children's literature. Stuart Little was illustrated by the subsequently award-winning artist Garth Williams, also his first work for children. It is a realistic fantasy about a talking mouse, Stuart Little, born to human parents in New York City.

Super Chinese Fighter EX is a fighting video game for the Game Boy Color released by Culture Brain in 1999. It is part of the Super Chinese series and is the final Fighter game in the series. Unlike most of the Super Chinese games, Fighter EX is not an action game or role-playing video game. The game features several characters from the Super Chinese series, including the main characters, Jack and Ryu.

Super Doll★Licca-chan (スーパードール★リカちゃん, Sūpā Dōru Rika-chan) is an anime TV series which ran on TV Tokyo in 1998–1999. Kodansha also serialized a manga based on the anime series in its monthly manga magazine Nakayoshi. The story follows an ordinary elementary school girl named Licca Kayama and the strange circumstances surrounding her origins, as well as the origins of her protector, Doll Licca. The series is an original story spin-off inspired by the long-selling and popular Takara doll lineup "Licca-chan", created by Miyako Maki, designed to expand the regular dress-up doll series into a line of action figures. However, the new figures were only a mild success, and did not remain in production for long. The 52-episode TV series aired in Japan from 6 October 1998 through 28 September 1999. Since its release in Japan it has been translated into multiple languages, including Chinese, Italian, Portuguese, Tagalog and Malay, and has been broadcast internationally on various stations, including Taiwan's CTS and Hong Kong's ATV and TVB, Cartoon Network's Latin America and Brazilian services, and Italy's RaiDue. ^ "Animated TV series 1997-2002". Survival Kids, known as Stranded Kids in Europe and Survival Kids: Kotou no Boukensha (ことう の ぼうけんか, lit. "Adventurer of the Solitary Island") in Japan, is a Game Boy Color game developed by Konami that was released in 1999. The gameplay revolves around surviving on a deserted island. The game features an open-ended structure that presents the player with multiple ways to progress through the game, all at the player's own pace.

Sweet Ange is a Game Boy Color game from the Angelique series by KOEI. It is a cooking (confection making) simulation with some dating sim elements. The player is given a choice of four protagonists: Angelique Limoges, Rosalia de Catargena, Angelique Collet, or Rachel Hart. The story takes place several years before the events in the first Angelique game and all the characters are correspondingly younger. The Guardians are known as the Sweet Knights, each of them associated with a confection/drink category. The goal of this game is to win the Rose Contest - the Smallney Academy cooking contest and become friends with the Sweet Knights along the way. As it is in an alternate universe setting, it is generally not considered to be part of a story arc in the series.
